Dear Colleagues, Players and Football Fans, On behalf of all your colleagues
at B. Braun Medical Ltd in
the UK, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 16th Eurofoot
tournament held this year in London – the capital of the United Kingdom
which is, of course, the original home of football!
England has played host to some memorable European finals over many years.
Who could forget Manchester
United’s 1968 European Cup victory over Benfica? As well as the
unforgettable 1966 World Cup victory over West Germany and of course, many
in these islands are still trying to forget the Euro 1996 semi- final defeat
against Germany! Nevertheless, football is a unique sport which generates
unrivalled passions, emotions and, of course, lasting friendships. It is in
the spirit of sportsmanship and friendship that everybody within B. Braun
Medical Ltd welcome you to our country from your locations around Europe.
B. Braun Medical in the United Kingdom is a fast growing member of the B.
Braun Group. We are successfully active in all areas of the B. Braun
business operations and are also moving into innovative new areas of
business growth and we are delighted that we have been chosen to host the
2007 Eurofoot tournament.
Our BBM UK organisation team has worked hard to ensure that the tournament
is a success and I do hope that you enjoy your time with us. As you will
know, London is a vibrant and dynamic city, truly a global capital and home
now to one of the world’s finest football stadiums, the recently completed
new Wembley. Alongside this new show piece is the fact that the world’s
oldest football team,
Sheffield FC was formed in 1857. It is remarkable to think that 150
years ago the formalised birth of football took place in the UK base of B.
Braun Medical Ltd.
Eurofoot 2007 promises to be a keenly contested affair. Country pride and
passion is at stake. Trophies and medals will be won and once again,
friendships will been enhanced in the B. Braun European family. I wish you
all an enjoyable and successful tournament. May the best
team
win, and of course, I wish you a safe return home to your individual
countries following Eurofoot 2007.
With best regards,
Hans Hux
Chief Executive Officer
